My Last Days: Meet Zach Sobiech

Zach Sobiech is a 17 year old diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. With only months to live, Zach turned to music to say goodbye. Zach turned 18 years old today (May 3rd, 2013) and continues his fight against cancer with a smile that can change the world. Happy Birthday Zach! You are in all of our prayers!

Zach Sobiech is 17 years old and diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that takes the lives of a large percent of its childhood victims. Given only months to live, Zach turned to music to say goodbye. His song "Clouds" spread, and soon, Zach's message was heard across the country. We wanted to help Zach spread his message, and bring awareness to increase support for finding a cure. So, we asked our friends to help out...they did.

Baby's first steps interrupted by pooping dog
A monumental moment in every parent's life is to watch their newborn baby take their first steps. If you're lucky, you can quickly grab your camera and capture the wonderful moment on film! This mom and grandma watched as their baby's first steps were interrupted by the dog taking a poop! The worst part, the baby falls right into it.

Obie, the obese dachshund.
Obie is a 6 year old standard dachshund who is on a mission to lose about 45 pounds. His current weight is 77lbs. His owners were no longer capable of caring for him and relinquished him. He is in a new home and on a weight loss program. His blood work is normal and he is otherwise healthy. Please follow his journey on FB; Biggest Loser, Doxie Edition.

After months of surgery, diet and exercise, Obie the obese dachshund is on the move again, traveling around Portland, Ore. and teaching students how to keep their pets in shape — and how they can stay healthy themselves in the process.
This past Tuesday, the formerly corpulent canine underwent surgery to remove the excess skin between his legs that resulted from his successful weight loss. Since he was adopted by Nora Vanatta last May, (first as a foster, then permanently in January), Obie has lost 40 pounds, and he’s still got another seven to go.
In the meantime, however, he’s been doing work in the community, helping to educate students young and old. “I took him to one of the private schools in Portland to talk to ninth graders about nutrition,” Vanatta told TODAY.com. “I talked about weight loss in people and in pets, and the students were very smart and very engaged!”
